Our aim is to spread great quality, authentic and right value Japanese tea and matcha here in Australia and the world.

We want people to know that Matcha is not the bitter, cloudy green colour that you think is good for health.

What is matcha exactly?

Matcha, unlike sencha, is cultivated by covering the raw material, tencha, with a cloth or other covering to block out sunlight, which is called "cover cultivation". Theanine, a flavour component, is converted to catechin, a bitter taste component, when exposed to sunlight, so tencha is carefully cultivated to lock its flavour in. Tencha is then ground using a stone mortar and it is called matcha.

Matcha that has been cultivated with a lot of care and cost is characterized by its strong flavour and low bitterness.

Matcha is rarely a single-origin tea, but is blended to maintain the same quality/taste according to the time of year and the season. Our focus is to maintain the same quality.

What can we supply?

We can supply tea leaves (sencha, deep-steamed green tea, hojicha, gyokuro, kabusecha, kukicha), sencha tea bags, matcha powder (ceremonial grade, premium grade, culinary grade), itteki retail products, shiratamako and can also produce sustainable packaging and stickers to be sold under your own brand. We can also ask tea farmers to customised green teas such as sencha and deep steamed green tea to suit the way you serve them, such as original roast condition. We would love to discuss what you are looking for.
